The Heart Behind The Sassy Shak

The Sassy Shak began with a dream—and the unwavering support of a man who believed in it as much as I did. In the winter of 2020, it all started with a simple live video of me engraving a cutting board. From those humble beginnings, we grew from a few family and friend orders to setting up 30- to 40-foot booths at vendor shows across Texas and Eastern New Mexico.

My late husband, Jerry, was my biggest cheerleader. He saw my passion and gifted me a 28-foot enclosed trailer, turning The Sassy Shak into a full-fledged Mobile Boutique. His belief in me lit the fire that still fuels this journey.

Over the years, I’ve tried to leave my “real” job to pursue The Shak full-time, but God had other plans. I used to joke with Jerry, “God is laughing at me.” In October 2023, our family faced a heartbreaking loss—Jerry was diagnosed with cancer and passed away just shy of six weeks later. That same month also brought joy: our youngest son got married, and we learned a grandson was on the way. Life gave us both grief and grace.

The Sassy Shak is more than a business—it’s my sanctuary. It brings me joy, even in the darkest moments. It’s where I feel closest to Jerry, and where I find purpose, healing, and connection.

To every customer, supporter, and friend who’s joined me on this journey: thank you. Your kindness and encouragement mean more than words can say. The Sassy Shak will continue to grow, just as Jerry believed it would. And I’ll keep showing up—with sass, heart, and gratitude.

Much Love,

Tina
